Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. She made her first appearances in the television screen in the role of Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on her role on the ABC comedy Roseanne. Perry was forbidden to perform in front of her family until the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the strain it might result in. Perry claims she never wanted to be an actor in highschool but decided to start playing as a way to make friends during her time at Northwestern University when she switched to the university from Boston University. Perry made her debut as an actress in New York after graduation, landing minor roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry go back to California and pursue a career as a stage actress. Perry was a part of Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning film Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played nine roles in The Family, an ABC drama The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry starred in a role on ABC's political thriller Scandal alongside her father. She was also cast in her role on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The character was chosen via auditions the fact that she had a deep association with it.
